Music for All is proud to partner with MusicforLouisiana.org and Lafayette High School to present the 2024 Louisiana Concert Band Invitational as one of Music for All’s Affiliate Regional Concert Band Festivals. Music for All (MFA) is a national organization that supports music programs nationwide through education and performance opportunities. MFA’s mission is to create, provide, and expand positively life-changing experiences through music for all. Its vision is to be a catalyst to ensure that every child across America has access to and opportunity to participate in active music-making in his or her scholastic environment. One of MFA’s programs in support of that mission is the Music for All National Festival, a non-competitive performance and learning opportunity for outstanding high school and middle school concert bands, orchestras, and percussion ensembles from across America. Music for All states, “We are thrilled and honored to partner with Lafayette to provide a positive educational opportunity for the bands in this area.” Music for All is providing one of its Music for All National Festival evaluators as evaluator and clinician for the Louisiana Concert Band Invitational. In addition, Music for All is providing several student and teacher scholarships to the Music for All Summer Symposium, a national music camp for band and orchestra students and band directors held in June in Indiana, to be awarded to Louisiana Concert Band Invitational participants. Music for All’s other programs includes the Bands of America Championships for marching bands held across the nation each fall. “We hope that our partnership with the Festival will help make a profound impact on the quality music education in Lafayette’s area,” says Martin, “as well as to support the Lafayette band’s efforts in presenting this notable Festival.” This year, the Louisiana Concert Band Invitational will be operating two exciting events. In addition to the main state concert band festival, LCBI often offers a Percussion Ensemble Festival sponsored by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
